My first audio posting!
The audio recording of one of my stories is posted at the top my Non-fiction Stories page. It's been read in public to appreciative audiences but has not yet been submitted for publication. It's called Ace.
Vancouver's public library in the downtown core is one resource-heavy place. Their Inspiration Lab allows musicians and writers to book three hour slots in one of their six sound-proofed cubicles. Computers, microphones and a bit of basic technical skill will allow you to create your own audio and video tracks. A writer friend and I squeezed into one of the four small rooms and took turns reading our work.
Reading in public typically takes 10 minutes of concentrated effort. When you read several pieces several times, the focus you're required to maintain is considerable. By the end of our session, I had six tracks useful for reviewing my speaking ability. Like my writing, it's all a work in progress.
